I know summer literally just hit Chicago (hallelujah!), but as locals know, the warmth doesn’t last long. With that being said, Nordstrom’s annual fall sale is here and I’m so excited to snag a couple pieces before leaves start changing. The best part about the sale? The merchandise is completely NEW…as in never been worn by anyone, hasn’t been sitting on racks for weeks that eventually get marked down. This is why people go crazy for it, as the sale price is only available for a limited time!
Pictured below I’m wearing a few items that are very similar to ones on sale that you can snag at a discount – don’t make the mistake I did by buying similar looking items to ones you’re eyeing now at full price several months later. 🙈
I also put together some items that I’m personally hoping to snag in the sale or just think are adorable/will lust over them since I can’t buy everything. Items that I already own from previous years that are now available again are in here as well. I can vouch for: the Hunter black rainboots, a version of the rust-colored booties, a version of the pull-on Converse sneaks, the fuzzy pullover, a version of the anorak jacket (I have a green version that I put all my pins & patches on) and the Joe’s high-waisted jeans.
Insider tip from a former Nordstrom employee: just because something is sold out online from the sale doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. Go to the stores (or call them but it’s easier in person) and have them call different stores around the country to find what size you’re looking for in certain pieces. Odds are the last few are in a store you don’t reside in! Also, be sure to repeat this step over the course of the sale and keep checking the site because most people who shop the sale early buy multiple sizes of things to see which size they are and then return the extras. That is your chance to jump on the pieces that went quickly!
Before I go, something to remember about this time of year: it is a great sale but it is still just a sale, it is not worth going into debt over. As someone who is just starting adult life with bills, I can tell ya I’m not going crazy this year so don’t feel pressured to buy everything you see due to the limited time. I personally love this sale for staples like a new pair of boots that I know I’ll wear with everything or, last year, for instance, I bought a new winter coat that I love and will rock a few winters in a row.
Happy shopping y’all and can’t wait to see what everyone gets this year! What item(s) are you hoping to grab in the sale?
See you in the next post,
