Hi everyone!
This update is going to be the opposite of the last one and be pretty short since I’m going to post these every Monday (and the first was in the middle but c’est la vie)!
First up is Butch McGuire’s – though not a pop-up bar, they go all out on the Christmas decor. Complete with lights, ornaments, every clad in ugly sweaters (including me!), not to mention the music! I attempted a Hot Toddy for the first time ever – I wish there was a little more citrus but otherwise good, especially for the cold weather. Maddie and I also got some Christmas in Your Mouth shots which were pretty easy to swig! Very minty but not in a bad way! Afterwards we ventured to Hopsmith to chow down on some carne asada tacos and they were actually REALLY good topped with avocado crema. We ended our journey at The Hangge Uppe – a dance bar that features 80s music on the first floor and 90s-2000s music on the second for us youngsters. So much fun!
Per tradition, my family went to see a showing of It’s A Wonderful Life at my local theater with the proceeds going to charity via the spirit of giving. As always, was not disappointed (especially with a belly full of buttery popcorn – yum!) and if you haven’t seen this Christmas classic, you better find it on the next free movie channel!
Local Spots I Checked Out: Butch McGuire’s, Hopsmith, The Hangge Uppe, The Pickwick Theater

See you in the next post!
