Hi everyone!
Long time no talk on here. Haven’t written since November – eek – I’ll be sure to be more active going forward!
A lot has changed since we last talked.
HOME
First, some spring cleaning. My apartment’s yard got lights put in a while back for the night time and they look so pretty! Now they are renovating it completely so for the next few weeks it’s gonna be a little noisy but I’m excited to see it when it’s done and will show you guys! I also have a ton of clothes I will be selling on Poshmark and Curtsy soon as well so will let you know once all items are listed and will probably make a separate insta for that.
TRAVEL
So excited to announce that I have a west coast trip coming up. I’ll be going to Denver for a wedding (for my beautiful bestie!) and then staying in Scottsdale for a couple of days after with family. I haven’t been to Denver in about 2 years, but AZ I haven’t been in around a decade so really excited for both and can’t wait to take you guys with me!
Speaking of the wedding, I’m happy to report that the bridal party will be fully vaccinated by the time the wedding weekend starts. I’ll be getting my second dose this week! Woo! Cue all the hydration and rest for this weekend.
CAREER
Up until a few weeks ago, I was working in a completely different industry than my previous job. It was a rough transition as it was in a non-creative environment and I had never had a non-creative role before. I took it as an in-between while searching for another social media marketing job as I loved my previous role before it but wanted to continue growing my skills. Then the pandemic hit, so I felt I had to stay for a bit to ride out all the economic changes as most marketing roles were first to go at the time. The role overlapped with the medical field so it was interesting being in that position during the pandemic; being able to witness what was going on on the inside with healthcare professionals and on the outside as someone not working directly on the front lines. Though it wasn’t my favorite, I think it was needed as it was the first time I worked at a bigger office and in a truly corporate environment. It was also the first time having to manage others: from hires & fires to vetting candidates, keeping track of schedules, and managing payroll.
We have since parted ways and I’m now on the search for my next career move in social media marketing. I missed it so much and am taking this break to better myself. I just started a 6-week social media masterclass that I’m hoping will help in that journey. I also want to be better about my health (both physical and mental), creating consistent content here & on my other platforms, and inching closer toward a big dream of mine: becoming an entrepreneur. Though it’s a little scary not having an income right now, this is a time that I probably won’t have again so I want to use it wisely. I am working toward freelancing as a social media manager as we speak so I’ll let you know once the site is live! Also, if you know of anyone looking for help in this area, especially if they are in the fashion & beauty, food & bev, or travel space, let me know as I would love to be of assistance.
Any tips welcome on this next chapter!
Thanks for listening and stay tuned for more updates as they roll out.
See you in the next post!
