Anyone Can Cook: How to Create a Charcuterie Board

May 25, 2018 in Drinks, Food, Snacks, Tips & Tricks for the Kitchen

Hi everyone!

Happy National Wine Day!! In honor of this glorious holiday, I decided to share the perfect partner in crime to wine…a charcuterie board! This has to be one of my favorite “meals” ever because it includes all the best things in life, like cheese. When you’re in a pinch for a dinner party or if you just need a good snack, try this guide out for the perfect pairing to go with your rosé or cab (or any flavor really!). I tried the new Target rosé, Yes Way Rosé, a nice & crisp wine to go with it.

After finding a cute cutting board or serving tray, like this cute pineapple one I got in Dallas, include a mix of the following:

Cheese – at least two or more types so that everyone has one they like

Meat – again, at least two or more (unless you’re just making a cheese board), if I had more room on this board I would have added a second meat

Crackers – make sure you have a good cracker to cheese ratio since the cracker will be the base for people to build their snacks on

Fruit – a nice variety of flavors like grapes and strawberries, easy to add on top of a cracker

Nuts – provides a great crunch and brings out the nutty flavor in cheeses too

*Honorable Mention* Jellies/Spreads – adding a dip, jelly, or even flavored honey is a great way to bring a little moisture to the board as well as flavor. Since my board was small, I had to opt this one out on mine.

Hope this was helpful, what do you put on your board?

See you in the next post!
